MEMBERSHIP
The club includes retirees from primarily
northern, midwestern and Canadian cities and provinces
who spend their winters in the Sandestin and South
Walton areas of the Florida panhandle.
As we
look forward to another winter season in the
beautiful Florida Panhandle it is time to return to
the task of organizing activities for the over 2000
past and new members of our great organization. Your
new president will be Vivek Likhite: new 1st vice
president is Bob Swenson and I (Brian Cosgrove) will
be your new information officer. Please email me at

pertaining to our new season .
We
currently do not have a list of General Meeting
dates but this will be available on the website at
waltoncountysnowbirds.com as soon as they are
available. Snowbird registration will begin on Nov.
24th at Faith Assembly Church on South Geronimo St.
at 9:00 am. Please check website for future
dates. Storage items may be picked up at Affordable
storage on Monday the 17 and Monday the 24th of
November between 3:00 and 4:00. Please refer to
website for balance of dates . For a full list of
all activities please check the website on a regular
basis. We presently do not have a convenor for
bridge so if you have some knowledge of the game and
would be able to help it would be appreciated. Also
we currently have not secured a site for euchre,
bridge and mahjong. If you know of any site that we
could use for these activities please let us know.
We all look forward to seeing everyone as you drift
down from the north.
The
Snowbirds provide organized and social activities
for members such as golf, tennis, bowling, dancing,
crafts, singing, games & cards, etc.
Regular meetings include musical entertainment,
activities announcements, free prizes & gifts.
Membership is $7 per person.
First Registration Date: Nov. 24, 8:30 a.m.
to 10:30 a.m.
Location: Faith Assembly Church on Geronimo
St, Miramar Beach.

HISTORY
The
Walton County Snowbirds were founded in 1989 when Francis Althiemer ran a newspaper ad that resulted
in 90 charter members. Mym Wooler was the first secretary.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The Walton Snowbirds are active in many community charitable
events. This past Snowbird season, the group had a successful
blood drive and "Snowbird Singers" fundraiser that
helped the group raise more than $6000 donated to the Sacred
Heart Foundation for the new hospital.
ACTIVITIES/COMMITTEES
Arts
and Crafts,
Snowbird Dance, Snowbird Singers, Barbershop Chorus, ballroom dancing,
tap dancing, line dancing, book discussions, bowling,
bridge, casino
outings, euchre,
charter fishing, golf scrambles, ladies
golf, leagues, picnics, singles club, tennis, ways and
means, joys and concerns.
