The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host an evening with Lincoln reenactor Kevin Wood on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Calhoun Room at the Destin Library.
Wood portrays President Abraham Lincoln, as one of our nation’s most beloved and esteemed historical figures. Wood’s likeness to the 16th President of the United States is amazing. The program will include a discussion of the principles that characterized Lincoln’s leadership (e.g., know your principles and stick to them; acknowledge your mistakes and learn from them) and will provide examples of how Lincoln exhibited these principles during his life and career.
Over the past 20 years, Wood has made appearances as President Lincoln at the Lincoln Presidential Museum and the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield, Ill,, and at events such as Lincoln’s Festival in Bloomington, Ill. Wood has appeared as Abraham Lincoln in 31 states, Washington, DC, and two foreign countries: Canada and Spain.
Wood is a lifetime member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters and currently serves on its Board.
