Organizers and volunteers have put a lot of work into developing activities and trips (Biloxi and New Orleans) for members. Water aerobics, tennis, pickleball, singing, poker, mah jongg and other games, blood drives, book discussion, bowling, ballroom dance, basketball, biking, art and so much more! Registration is 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4, Jan. 3, 8, 17 and Feb. 5 at Faith Assembly Hall, 306 South Geronimo St., Miramar Beach, Fla. Gathering (meetings) 10 a.m. to Noon: Dec. 7 (Destin United Methodist Church; Jan. 11, 25, Feb. 8 (Destin United Methodist Church) and Feb. 22 (St Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church). Escape the winter blues and join the Walton County Snowbirds community in Florida! This group surely knows how to have fun!! Hosting several sports and outdoor activities as well as their arts, crafts, cards, and discussion groups, there is something for everyone. Their social events include TGI Thursday happy hours, dinners, dolphin cruise, casino trips, and bi-weekly gatherings are all packed with entertainment, joy, and laughter.
Check out their latest activity highlight – the Ukulele Next Step class – a new favorite among snowbirds! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 … the snowbirds have arrived!! The Walton County Snowbirds (WCS) kicked off this year with its second registration on January 3, 2025. Approximately 375 members have already signed up, including 55 new members. We are predicting to have record numbers of participants this season.
The WCS are a collection of fun-loving, caring and sharing seniors, both locals and non-residents, who enjoy staying active and engaged in social events during the snowbird months. You must be a registered WCS to take part. Membership costs is $20.00 per person. You can sign up at any of the Registrations or Snowbird Gatherings.
Activities are abundant with the WCS. With at least 30 activities to choose from, there is something for everyone! Exercise activities, cards and games, arts and crafts, and musical groups. Three new activities added this year include The Panhellenic group, the Cribbage group, and a Dulcimer group.
Registration opportunities in January are still available from 8:30am-10:30am at the Faith Assembly Hall at 306 S. Geronimo in Miramar Beach on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and Friday, January 17, 2025. Not here until February? No problem, we have registrations in February also.
Snowbird Gatherings are fun social events for the WCS members which include entertainment by local musicians, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing to support a local scholarship program, and special club announcements. Come an hour early also to take advantage of free samples, discounts, and useful information handed out by supporting businesses. You can also register to be a club member from 9:00-10:00am. January’s Snowbird Gatherings are from 10:00am-12:00noon at Destin United Methodist Church on:

Walton County Snowbirds are a Social Flock
As of our most recent registration and snowbird gathering on January 11, the Walton County Snowbirds (WCS) has 574 members! The snowbird gathering offered samples by local vendors, numerous door prizes donated by the area businesses who support the snowbirds, a 50/50 drawing, and entertainment by Rich McDuff (who got the entire crowd chanting and clapping in a few group songs). A fun time was had by all!
We have two social events coming up this week for the WCS members. On Wednesday, January 17 there is a Biloxi “Boomtown” Casino Bus Trip planned and on Friday, January 19, there is a social dinner at the Crab Trap. Members will have a fee to pay for the bus trip and those attending the dinners will receive separate bills for their meals. Anyone interested in attending these events are encouraged to sign up at a registration or by contacting the event coordinator.
Are you single and looking for other singles to mingle with while on the Emerald Coast this winter? The Walton County Snowbirds have a very active singles group. The members meet at various times in January and February for happy hours and for lunch after the General Meetings which are listed below. This group’s outings are a great way to meet other snowbirds who do not have a partner with them.
