Save the date! On December 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church in DeFuniak Springs will hold its “The Christmas Tour of Homes.” The event benefits their Preservation Fund which is dedicated to the upkeep of the Church’s three historic buildings on Circle Drive. Following a two-year hiatus because of COVID concerns, plans are underway for a stellar event! You will definitely need a car to get to all the homes and other attractions.
Enjoy a full weekend of events. Some hotels offer weekend packages. You may want to experience a movie at the Chautauqua Theatre on Friday evening. In addition to an all-day tour of about 10 homes on Saturday, there will be Breakfast at St. Agatha’s. Also, the Mistle Toe Market, the Historic Library, the Church, the Parish House and Murray House will be open. Finally, the renowned “Christmas Reflections” with 9 million lights and displays around Lake DeFuniak begins at 5 p.m.
On Sunday the only remaining church from the Chautauqua era (St. Agatha’s circa 1896 at 144 Circle Drive) will welcome you at 10:15 a.m. After lunch, an explore the history of this “Chautauqua Town” via a walking tour. The Chautauqua Winery will be open for wine tasting and includes fantastic gift shop.
