Randy and Frances Brewer retired permanently along the Gulf Coast four years ago. Randy grew up in cold and snowy Chicago, Ill., where he still has family while Frances hails from the milder winters of Houston, Texas.

Although they have been traveling to the Alabama Gulf Coast for some 20 years, Leanna and Mel Trombley finally made the decision this season to become actual “Snowbirds.”
The Trombleys, both 63, hail from Harrisville, N.Y., located near Syracuse, N.Y. , where winters can be harsh.

Canadian Snowbirds Timi Millar and her husband, Tom, of Winnipeg, Manitoba met more than 25 years ago while competing in the sport of Curling.
Not sure what that is? The sport is sometimes called “chess on ice” and involves polished granite stones, called rocks.

Norma and Jack Elliott marked their 45th anniversary in April, 2014. The couple met when Norma, a registered nurse from the Phillipines, took a hospital job after college graduation, in Winnipeg, Canada.

For the past 17 years Lora and Kenn Krouse have spent seven to eight months at their winter home in Gulf Shores, Ala. Kenn is the president of the Wisconsin Snobird Club and Lora is his unofficial secretary.
